Inspector Certification Courses: What You Should KnowGrowth in the field of home inspectors has been at a phenomenal rise over the past ten or so years. Work in this particular field is still expanding, especially in certain areas that have been experiencing high volumes of property and home development opportunities. As long as there are builders who are building then there will be inspectors who are going to be inspecting. If this seems like a career that you may be interested in pursuing and learning more about, then I am encouraging you to do your research. So where should you begin? I would suggest that you use your computer and start surfing the wonderful invention that we all have come to love, known as the World Wide Web... a.k.a. the internet. Once you have logged in, simply type the words "inspector certification courses" into your search engine and see what results you end up with. There are many out there. It is very important for you to invest as much time as you possibly can in researching all of your options in depth. There are quite a few training courses that are promising quick training courses and easy certification programs. Be very wary of such a promise. Home inspection is not something that is so easily learned. Think about it for a moment. What is a home inspector? Well, simply put... one who inspects homes. Although the definition itself may not be so complicated, the actual job should not be taken lightly. If you were buying a home, wouldn't you want someone inspecting it that was more than qualified to do so? After all, you are relying on this person’s judgment for the safety and well being of your home and the family within it. Something as important as that should not be overlooked. Even though some programs will tell you that it is possible for you to become certified in a few short days, this simply is not ideal. Home inspection actually requires quite a large number of book knowledge and should really be backed with some solid field experience. It just isn't something that you can fully understand in a week... or for that matter even several months. The bottom line is... if you are serious about pursuing an active career in home inspection; don't cheat yourself (or your clients). You should be sure that the program you choose is from an accredited and highly qualified training facility.
